The 6 Biggest Inventions In Computing:
Computer science has revolutionized our lives and the world in general; There are events or better said inventions that marked a before and after, and that is important to know, either by general culture or if you are directly related to computer science.
Although some inventions have been mentioned as “the first” in their class for a long time, when we investigate a little we find some surprises like: Babbage is not technically the Inventor of the computer or that FORTRAN was not the first programming language.

SAFE IN THE CLOUD
Cloud Computing (cloudcomputing) makes IT easier and cheaper. In the “cloud”, anyone can rent as much power for the computer, as much memory capacity and as much software as you want. For this reason, the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology subsidizes several research programs that aim to improve the reliability and security of cloud computing.

NO CARD DOES NOT WORK

THE BIRTH OF THE COMPUTER
The world’s first computer is located in the Zuse family living room in Berlin. Konrad, the son, has just finished his career as a civil engineer when, in 1935, he began to build a programmable calculator. The Z1 has the dimensions of a double bed and breaks down very easily: sequential mechanical systems are blocked every two times. For this reason, in the later model, Zuse replaces them with relays, electromagnetic switches.
But only the third version, the Z3, is really operative and, in this way, it becomes the first programmable computer in the world. Already in 1949, Konrad Zuse founded the Zuse KG, the first German computer company, although the economic success does not go with it.
POINTS AND LINES
Already in the 20s, the electro technician and inventor Rudolf Hell comes up with the idea of decomposing texts and images into points and lines to make them electronically transferable. In 1929, he built the first “Hell Schreiber” in his company near Berlin. Until today, faxes work according to the same principle.
In 1958, Hell begins with the development of a color scanner that reads the images and digitizes them. At that time, scanners are huge devices. Later, they become mobile when the first manual scanners appear on the market.
In total, Hell registers 127 patents throughout his life. With this, its purpose was: progress and practical use.
THE INDUSTRY 4.0
The steam engine, the manufacturing chain, information technologies … The world of work has already undergone three revolutionary changes. Now we are at the beginning of the room. The vision of industry 4.0 is the smart factory: machines, workpieces and means of transport are interconnected, through sensors, actuators and tiny computers, with each other and with the Internet. In this way, they can exchange information at all times. This also optimizes production and logistics, and the products adapt to the wishes of customers in a personalized way. Mechanical engineers, IT experts and logistics experts work together in an interdisciplinary way.
3D WITHOUT GLASSES
3D technology offers a totally new cinematic experience. Until now, the spectator had to wear special glasses, since the spatial sensation appears only when the right eye and the left eye recognize different perspectives. Although the new televisions already allow to enjoy a projection in 3D without glasses, the resolution is low because the screen must show at the same time several views to which the perspective has been changed.
A Berlin team works on new image editing procedures to solve these problems. For this, a set of sensors captures the position of the observer while, simultaneously, the software ensures that each viewer has before his eyes an impeccable image in 3D, even if he moves around the room.
